This morning, the Ministry of Local Government convened at the Ministry headquarters for a prayer breakfast under the theme, “Crowned to Serve: Honouring God Through Public Service.”
Led by Father Deogracious Kiibi, the event united staff as they prayed and reflected on their role in serving the nation. Father Kiibi urged government employees to participate in lifting members of their communities out of poverty.
Mr. Nelson Kahandi, Assistant Commissioner in charge of Human Resource Management, urged staff to be deliberate in protecting their health and not leave it to chance. He committed to prioritizing health communication in future engagements.
The event also paid tribute to Hon. Jovrine Kaliisa Kyomukama, Deputy Coordinator of the PDM, who had announced her resignation to contest for the Woman Member of Parliament seat for Ibanda District in the 2026 General Elections. Recently elected as the NRM Chairperson for Ibanda, Hon. Kaliisa delivered a motivational address, encouraging staff to embrace compassion, excel in customer care, and support one another in their line of duty.
